EVERY HOME    COUNTS

Our homes and yards are not worlds unto themselves. Each is connected to and contributes to a larger community common of land, air and water. With increasing awareness of climate change and biodiversity crises, now is the time to take action and boast about it!

Maybe you’ve been at it for years and deserve recognition. Maybe you just placed solar panels on your home, switched to electric driving, are proud of your new idea for water conservation. Maybe you want to learn more and be part of the call to action. Let us know and inspire others!

In fighting climate change & protecting Montclair's environment, the more of us join together in action, the greater our cumulative impact on the future of our town, region and planet.

 How it works
  1. Take the pledge to do your part. Review the actions within the 9 categories that will make an impact and let us know what you will do.

  2. Inspire others - Throughout the year, we’ll share your stories and our collective results.

  3. Raise funds for Toni’s Kitchen while you’re at it – With 250 survey responses, some of our generous neighbors will donate $500 to Toni’s Kitchen.

  4. The ultimate honor - If your home counts in all 9 categories, we would love to recognize you, publicly, for your great contribution to the community and environment!

Pledge

"I pledge to do the best I can to reduce the negative impact of carbon emissions on climate change and help protect our local natural environment through actions around my own home and yard. I recognize that our planet is in crisis and that individual actions can have a cumulative impact."

Below, check out 9 ways you can help. In each category, there are a number of actions you can take that will contribute to our collective impact.  Check off all the actions you are already doing and any new ones you'd like to take on!

In the near future, we’ll share results, and add specific numeric goals! (So, bookmark this page and come back each time you complete a new action)
