Increased Green Infrastructure 403-405 Bloomfield Ave.

Updated: Jan 23, 2021

The Montclair Environmental Commission helped a local development increase its green footprint during site plan review. The Commission recommended that the proposed development at 403-405 Bloomfield Avenue add green space and utilize green infrastructure practices to capture, filter, absorb, or reuse stormwater to help restore the natural water cycle. The developer accepted the recommendations and agreed to install a rain barrel to capture rainwater from the building roof, which would be used to water the new green landscaping in the parking area. The developer’s architect additionally designed planters and arborvitae on the roof terraces for more green landscaping elements.
