The Montclair Environmental Commission, Mayor, Council, and Township are excited to let you know about the New Jersey Comfort Partners Program. This is a FREE program that helps Montclair households to save energy and save money on utility bills while increasing the comfort, safety and efficiency of their homes through things like sealing leaky drafts, replacing inefficient refrigerators and thermostats, and more. Households with annual income between $31,900 and $110,300 (depending on family size) may be eligible. See the table below for income eligibility. This program is open to owners and renters.
Comfort Partners Program representatives will work with you personally, in your house or apartment, to evaluate the current level of energy efficiency in your home. They’ll review many factors that affect your energy use and comfort – including home heating and cooling, water heating, lighting, and major appliances. And, they’ll teach you and your family members new ways to conserve energy, save money, and help you create an action plan to support your efforts.
Recent success stories locally include:
- fixed polluting gas leaks in the home
- replaced insulation to reduce cold drafts
- replaced inefficient refrigerator
- fixed a cracked boiler heat exchanger
- installed efficient, energy saving (cost saving) light bulbs
This was all done at no cost to the household or landlord. All work is guaranteed for one year.
To apply, simply call 800-915-8309 or visit NJCleanEnergy.com/CP. After you apply, a program representative will be in contact to determine eligibility and discuss next steps.
